APRIL 24, 2025

On April 24, 2025, Lee-Anne and I went to Port Credit for our little sister date. I know that summer vacation has begun when we start taking our trips to Port Credit for our dose of Scoops Ice-Cream and walks by the water. Port Credit is summer for me. I never knew what Port Credit was or the fact that it existed until Mommy introduced it to us.

I will never forget coming down in August to watch the Busker Fest performers, eating ice-cream, and walking up and down the streets of Port Credit. The red and white lighthouse was symbolic, kind of like a little getaway from the usual hustle and bustle of Mississauga. The lighthouse always anchored me. It reminded me that this is where I am right now, here, at Port Credit enjoying the time that I have with the people in my life who love me.

Back to our sister date—it was such a beautiful day on that Thursday afternoon. I remember that I checked the weather the day before and I was excited for it to be 22 degrees with sun and clear skies. I worked the night before so I was looking forward to soaking up the sun, being by the water, and enjoying my ice-cream with Lee-Anne. The drive there was nice and calm. Lee-Anne and I laughed about our usual random jokes and talked about anything that popped up in our minds. One of the reasons why I love our sister dates is because I get to laugh a lot and be random. I can be Michaela.

When we got to Port Credit it was a lot cooler than I expected. The chill of the air was refreshing but also jolting in a way. Once we got to Scoops, I ordered a Coconut Lemon Wafer ice-cream and Lee-Anne ordered a Lemon Sorbet (her usual). I was kind of sad because one of my flower bracelets broke. Oh well. I still tried to make the best of our trip.

The Coconut Lemon Wafer ice-cream was yummy and tarte. I am starting to like more tarte rather than sweet deserts. It was also refreshing just like the breeze being blown into the streets from the water. Lee-Anne and I sat down in our usual spot and just took in the blue views. I walked down to the pier to take my usual pictures. I took pictures of our ice-cream, the clouds in the sky, and the water. It was cold. It was chilling. It was a breath of fresh air.

The air and coolness from the water was seeping into my lungs. Kind of like when you eat mint gum and then drink ice cold water. It was satisfying. It was beautiful. It was serene. After we finished our ice-cream we decided to take a walk along the back roads. We even walked through the new condos that they are building. We talked about more random stuff and laughed. I saw a bush of flowers that were starting to bloom. It caught my eye and reminded me that Spring is here and things are starting to bloom. Life is starting to come back after the harsh cold winter.

Overall, I would rate this trip to Port Credit a 7 out of 10.
